This FireOwls All-CCIE Team Installation of a CrossvCenter NSX implementation included the integration of NSX managers, Edge Services
Gateways (ESGs), Distributed Logical Routers, and logical switches.
Universal Logical Switches (ULS) are deployed to stretch networks between each data center.
A Universal Distributed Logical Router (UDLR) is
deployed in each data center. An associated
Locale-ID is used to control egress traffic flow for
each data center virtual environment.
A Transit Universal Logical Switch (ULS) is
deployed at each data center and connected to the
local UDLRs and ESGs.
Edge Services Gateways (ESGs) are deployed at
each data center to provide connectivity into and
out of the virtual environment. ESGs can also be
used to provide services like NAT, VPN, or
A virtual distributed switch is used to connect the
hosts physical portsand infrastructure tothe virtual
components. ESGs will serve as the front door to
the virtual environment.
The NSX Universal Control Cluster tracks and
distributes information for logical routers and switches.
